Breaking Down GLAAD's Latest 'Where We Are on TV' Report
The press release put out today by GLAAD in support of its 16th annual “Where We Are on TV” report is somewhat misleading. It trumpets the fact that “FOX is now the most inclusive broadcast television network with 6.8% of regular characters being gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender.”
In fact, the network that really deserves the PR lede is ABC. Of the five “Leading Characters – Broadcast” crowning this report, the network has four: Modern Family protagonists Mitchell Pritchett and Cameron Tucker, Happy Endings‘ Max Blum and Grey’s Anatomy‘s Callie Torres.
