Getty Images Refocuses Photos.com with an Eye Toward Small Businesses

The new, refocused Photos.com debuted Tuesday, and parent Getty Images said the site is targeted toward small business owners, marketers, graphic designers, Web designers, and other creative professionals, offering millions of images.

Single images start at $1.99, and purchasing in quantities of five, 10, 25, or 50 can lower the cost to under $1 apiece. Subscriptions are available for $19 per week, which covers 100 images, working out to $0.19 per image, and they can be purchased for three, six, or 12 months.

Getty Images also developed a contest on the Photos.com Facebook page, giving small U.S. businesses the chance to win makeover of their Web sites, landing pages, brochures, or other marketing elements. The Facebook page also offers case studies, a news feed, links, and a user forum.

Getty Images chief operating officer Nick Evans-Lombe said:

Recognizing that some of today’s customers have limited budgets to bring their creative projects to life, Photos.com is a convenient way to access and license affordable imagery in an instant. Photos.com offers 2.5 million images from a wide range of excellent photographers at substantial savings, enabling small businesses to enhance how they market themselves to their customers.
