Get Ready for Francis Ford, Meg Ryan and Your Ellie-tini!

We hear tonight’s National Magazine Awards, while blessed with far less Hollywood star power than last night’s Time 100, will still have some. Francis Ford Coppola — whose Zoetrope is up against the Atlantic Monthly, Virginia Quarterly Review and McSweeney’s for an Ellie for fiction — is said to be a presenter as is Meg Ryan and Vanity Fair-cover boy Anderson Cooper.

We were hoping for an encore cameo from Jon Stewart, he of the Stephen Colbert school of winning over a dais (see last fall’s MPA editor’s panel) but we may have to settle for this:

Newsweek editor and outgoing American Society of Magazine Editors president Mark Whitaker told ASME members yesterday that as part of the effort to make tonight’s National Magazine Awards sexier — aside from moving the awards to the evening — they will be serving custom-martinis called “Ellie-tinis.”
