Get Free eMusic From Pizza Hut–Sort Of

Pizza_Hut_Pizza_Mia.jpgPizza Hut customers who order online can now get 75 free tracks from eMusic, the independent online music retailer—but with a catch.

Here’s the basic idea: “After selecting Pizza Mia pizza, Tuscani Pastas, WingStreet wings or any other Pizza Hut items, customers will receive 75 free MP3 downloads,” which can be played on any MP3 player including the iPod, iPhone, Zune, and regular cell phones with music player apps.

Here’s how the program actually works: When customers place an order online between November 5 through December 27, they’ll receive a link to a microsite where they can download 75 songs. Customers pick 25 free promotional songs from a special Pizza Hut playlist, plus any 50 songs from eMusic’s four million song catalog as part of a 14-day free trial of eMusic. The catch: If they don’t cancel the trial subscription, they’ll be rolled into a regular $11.99/month subscription, which nets them 30 downloads a month. If they cancel, they can still keep the 75 songs.

eMusic is a good service, but an automatic rollover into a paid subscription is never cool.
