German eReader Firm Txtr Hires Content Chief

German eReader company Txtr has hired a new content chief to help grow eReading.

Tech Crunch Europe reports: “Klaus Fuereder will be responsible for international content strategy and, specifically, courting publishers who might be interested in jumping on the “growing eReading bandwagon”, as txtr quite aptly puts it. Fifty-two years old, Fuereder is a veteran of the publishing industry. He joins from Ulstein-Buchverlagen, where he was the General Manager Marketing and Operations. Prior to Ulstein-Buchverlagen he worked at Süddeutsche Zeitung.”

According to Price Waterhouse Cooper, while eBook adoption has been slow in Germany, adoption is poised to grow in the coming years. According to the PCW report called “eBooks in Germany” from December 2010, eBook sales in Germany are expected to grow to 350 million euro by 2015 and by 2015, 2.5 million consumers are expected to own eReaders in Germany.
