Gay Activists' Protest Of Webster Hall Benefit Concert Forces Cancellation

A concert benefitting aids charity LIFEbeat that had been slated for tomorrow was cancelled late last week after the show’s organizers recieved threatening phone calls concerning the inclusion of Beenie Man and TOK, a pair of reggae artists whose songs include “anti-gay lyrics.”

At a press conference held outside the LIFEbeat offices on Thursday, a small coalition of activists, including Boykin, continued to voice their frustrations. “This is not an issue of mere homophobia,” he said.
