Candy Crush Saga and ChefVille this week's gainer and loser among the Top 25 Facebook games of November, 2012

As the month draws to its close, we take a look at the top titles on our list of the Top 25 Facebook Games of November, 2012. Per usual, we're looking at games' daily active users, which is the best measure of a title's core audience. We skipped posting last week due to the long Thanksgiving weekend, but now we're back to close November out. Normally, games at the top of the list feature such massive numbers that large changes can occur without any movement on the chart, but the past couple of months have seen some dramatic traffic shifts. Witness: The Ville quickly topped the chart this summer but managed to completely drop off the list by the start of this month. Here's what we've looked at so far: Nov. 8, 2012: No. 25 (DoubleDown Casino) through No. 19 (Zynga Slingo) Nov. 15, 2012: No. 18 (Monster World) through No. 13 (CityVille) This week we check out No. 6 through No. 1. 6. Bubble Witch Saga King.com's Bubble Witch Saga has been up and down this month, going as high as 4 million DAU and as low as 3.6 million, but it's right back where it started at the 3.8 million mark. The game hit its high point of 6.7 million DAU back in April, and its traffic has been falling off ever since. That said, the traffic decline seems to be past its dramatic slump and has stayed around 4 million DAU since September. If Bubble Witch Saga moves at all on next month's list, it will be dependent on how the other games around it perform; that said, it doesn't seem likely that it will move much, if at all. 5. ChefVille ChefVille saw a slight surge at the beginning of the month, jumping up to 4 million DAU before falling as low as 3.5 million. Currently, the game's at 3.6 million, but it could possibly drop further before the next month. Like many recent Zynga games, ChefVille's traffic spiked in August, shortly after its launch, with 7.2 million DAU. By the end of September, it had already dropped to 5 million DAU. The drop off's slowed since then, but if there's another dip within the next two days it could appear closer to the No. 10 spot in time for December's Top 25 list. 4. Candy Crush Saga King.com's Candy Crush Saga saw some major gains this month, having jumped up from 4.8 million DAU to 6.4 million. After some breakneck growth from May through July, the gain was still bringing in users but slower speeds. This month, though, King released the game on iOS and that seems to have done the trick at kickstarting the game's gains once more; currently, the game's the No. 24 free app in iTunes. Based on this growth, it looks like Candy Crush Saga might actually jump up a couple of spots next month, but it probably won't take the top spot away from FarmVille 2. 3. Words With Friends Words With Friends is up a bit, going from 6 million DAU to 6.4 million. Although a ways off from the game's March peak of 9 million DAU, Words With Friends continues to be one of Zynga's best and longest-performing titles. Much like Bubble Witch Saga, Words With Friends is at the point where its traffic declines have leveled out and it's been hovering near the 6 million mark. If the game's traffic holds around this position, it might be able to take the No. 2 spot, but it could also drop down to No. 4 if Candy Crush Saga manages to surpass it. 2. Texas Holdem Poker Texas HoldEm Poker hasn't moved too much, starting out the month at 6.2 million DAU and now at 6.3 million. The game peaked in February 2011 with 7.7 million DAU, a traffic point it almost returned to in July, but it's since dropped off again. Texas HoldEm Poker goes through peaks and valleys, and it currently looks like the game is at or near a low point of the latter. There hasn't been any indication that Texas HoldEm Poker is about to start gaining users again, and it looks like it might possibly get passed by a non-Zynga title for the first time in the past year (possibly ever). 1. FarmVille 2 FarmVille 2 began November at 8.7 million DAU and moved as high as 8.9 million, but it's since dropped off to 8.5 million. The game managed to hit 9.2 million DAU last month, but traffic declines don't seem to be nearly as dramatic as other titles Zynga's released this year. Even though its audience is 600,000 DAU smaller than it was in October, it doesn't look like it'll be dethroned any time soon. Expect to see FarmVille 2 still sitting pretty in the No. 1 spot next month. All data in this post comes from our traffic tracking service, AppData.
