Now Playing: Your Cat’s POV

Several Southern California felines played a part in the making of four-minute documentary Cat Diaries: The First Ever Movie Filmed by Cats. Our favorite, based on the bios listed at sponsor Friskies’ website, is 14-year-old Hollywood male Simon. (Apparently, this corresponds to 72 in human years.)

“Simon is a professor emeritus at USC,” the tongue-in-cheek owner-provided profile reads. “He is the recipient of the prestigious Lamont Prize for poetry, the MacDowell Medal for contribution to the arts and the only cat ever to receive a “Genius Grant” from the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation.”

Smart cat. Then again, you would need to be in order to snag a special high-def strap-on camera and a December 9th red carpet premiere at The Grove with Denise Richards (we’re not kidding). A shorter version of the Erik Denno-Jason Farrell magnum opus is currently playing as a Coming Attraction through December 23rd in Brentwood, Anaheim Hills and eight other select markets around the country.
