Friendster Befriends Yahoo! Southeast Asia

Friendster and Yahoo! Southeast Asia announced a partnership under which a new social application built by Friendster will be displayed on Yahoo! Southeast Asia properties, Yahoo! Southeast Asia products will be cross-promoted on the social-networking site and Yahoo! Search will contain results from Friendster user profiles and fan profiles, TechCrunch reported.

The social-networking site’s members will be able to link their Friendster accounts and their Yahoo! accounts; share their Friendster activity and access their inboxes via Yahoo!; and publish their Friendster activity to Yahoo! Messenger and other Yahoo applications, according to TechCrunch.

Friendster has more than 90 million registered users, and 90% of its daily traffic originates from Southeast Asia, TechCrunch reported. David Cohen is editor of Adweek's Social Pro Daily.
