WARNING: Emails Claiming To Contain Facebook Photos Actually Contain Malware
The latest malware warning from Sophos’ Naked Security follows the familiar path of using photos as bait, this time in the form of email attachments, made to look like they originated from Facebook and claiming to contain photos that users were added in, but actually containing a malicious Trojan horse.
The latest malware warning from Sophos’ Naked Security follows the familiar path of using photos as bait, this time in the form of email attachments, made to look like they originated from Facebook and claiming to contain photos that users were added in, but actually containing a malicious Trojan horse.
According to Naked Security, The emails contain the subject line, “Your friend added a new photo with you to the album,” and read as follows:
Greetings,
One of Your Friends added a new photo with you to the album.
You are receiving this email because you’ve been listed as a close friend.
[View photo with you in the attachment]
However, rather than photos, unsuspecting users of the social network are treated to the Troj/Agent-XNN form of malware, according to Naked Security.
