‘Friday Night Lights’ Motto Shines On Mitt Romney’s Facebook Page

“Clear eyes. Full hearts. Can’t lose.” Readers may remember this motto from former NBC hit series “Friday Night Lights,” but it has also found a home on the Facebook page of Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney.

“Clear eyes. Full hearts. Can’t lose.” Readers may remember this motto from former NBC hit series “Friday Night Lights,” but it has also found a home on the Facebook page of Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney.

The Hill’s Twitter Room blog reported that the cover image on Romney’s Facebook page is now a photo depicting the back of a person standing in the rain, with the motto used by the TV show’s Coach Taylor.

Twitter Room added that journalist Buzz Bissinger, author of the book that inspired the series of the same title, endorsed Romney for president, possibly prompting the use of the slogan.

However, according to Twitter Room, President Barack Obama’s Twitter account sent a tweet May 21 reading, “Clear eyes, full hearts,” and featuring a photo of Obama throwing a football in Chicago’s Soldier Field, home of the National Football League’s Chicago Bears.
