Freeze On Vacation Time For Daily News Employees

Employees at the Los Angeles Daily News and the rest of the papers in the Los Angeles Newspaper Group were informed yesterday that they would not acquire any vacation time for the next three months. Employees are also encouraged to use vacation time they have already accrued. LA Observed has the memo about the freeze, which states “This measure is being taken as a further effort to reduce our operating expenses due to the continuing decline in revenue.”

This comes after employees were required to take a week-long unpaid furlough during the months of February and March.
