This Shop Is Giving Away Free Snacks If You Tweet

Central Londoners, get your smartphones out and your tweeting thumbs ready: with no more than 140-characters you could get yourself a free snack! OK, it’s not a six course meal or anything, but still, it’s free. What more could you ask for?

Called The Tweet Shop, this first-of-its-kind popup store from Kellog’s is offering a free box of their newest product, Special K Cracker Crisps, to anyone who walks in the door ready to tweet.

The Tweet Shop, located at 13 Meard Street, London, is open every day from 9 to 5 from Tuesday September 25th until Friday September 28th.

Upon entering the Tweet Shop, patrons are greeted by red-dress wearing Special K girls who walk them through from tweet to free snack. There is also a community noticeboard inside, which highlights the latest tweets about Cracker Crisps.

Paying for goods using “social currency” is not totally new, but Kellogg’s claims this is the first time an entire store has been dedicated to the idea. A vending machine in South Africa was offering free iced tea that was dispensed via a tweet earlier this summer.

The positive sentiment that a campaign like this would generate must be huge. I can’t imagine very many people going on Twitter to complain about something they just got for free!
