Four Forbes Digital Staffers Get Promoted

Forbes announced today that several employees in the digital division are moving up the ladder in what looks to be an effort to bring its digital presence up to date. The company is creating an entirely new division focused on data and analytics and streamlining its social-media presence.

Jonathan Meyers is now the vice president of business development and advertising operations. He’ll be in the unenviable position of trying to increase revenue at a Web property, and will report to Forbes President Michael Smith.

On the technology side, Michael Dugan will serve under Chief Information Officer James Lin as Forbes’ new vice president of information technology. Meanwhile, Tiffany Luck will be heading up the newly formed Data and Analytics department. Finally, Sharon Gitelle will take charge of the Audience Development and Social Media team, a tastefully named fusion between Forbes’ Blog Recruitment and Social Media department and its Audience Department.

(New York, NY) February 22, 2010 — Forbes Digital has announced four key promotions, effectively immediately, which reflect changes in the company’s organizational structure.

Jonathan Meyers has been promoted to Vice President of Business Development and Advertising Operations, and will continue to report to Michael Smith, president of In this new role, Jonathan will work closely with the sales team to test, develop and grow alternative revenue streams. He will also evaluate and launch new digital business initiatives and products, and spearhead an effort to bring better prioritization, focus and structure to Forbes Digital’s strategic initiatives.

Michael Dugan has been promoted to Vice President of Information Technology, reporting to Dr. James Lin, Chief Information Officer. In this position, he will oversee of all software development initiatives and content management system operations.

Tiffany Luck has been promoted to Director of Data and Analytics, a newly formed department, and will report to Smith. Tiffany and her team will play an integral role in driving data-driven strategy at Forbes Digital, with responsibilities including the management and support of offsite technologies.

Sharon Gitelle has been promoted to Director of Audience Development and Social Media, reporting to Smith. Sharon’s current Blog Recruitment and Social Media team will be merged with the Audience Development department, a move which supports the companywide strategy of developing and growing the Forbes audience across social media platforms.
