Former Yahoo Exec David Rice Officially Joins CBS Interactive Games

David Rice, former VP of media properties at Yahoo, has officially announced his appointment as senior vice president and general manager of CBS Interactive Games.

David Rice, former VP of media properties at Yahoo, has officially announced his appointment as senior vice president and general manager of CBS Interactive Games.

Jim Lanzone, president of CBS Interactive, announced the news this morning in a press release, confirming a previous report by AllThingsD.

At Yahoo, Rice was responsible for numerous media properties including Yahoo! News, Finance, Sports, Movies, TV, and Games. Prior to that, he worked on the development of Hotmail and MSN Messenger for Microsoft.

In his new position at CBS, Rice will oversee operations for all of the company’s gaming properties, such as GameSpot, GameFAQs, Comic Vine, and the video game database Giant Bomb; eSports initiatives; and the GameSpot video network, which partners with Major League Gaming, Twitch TV, Own3d and others.
