Former Time Warner Book Group CEO to Join Amazon

He will head a new general interest imprint

Laurence Kirshbaum, former CEO of Time Warner Book Group, will join Amazon Publishing's New York office as vice president and publisher. Kirshbaum, who will head a new general interest imprint, said that he will publish fiction and nonfiction titles in both print and digital formats. Amazon has recently launched imprints in mystery and romance genres, and is planning to expand its offerings.

Kirshbaum left Time Warner Book Group (now Hachette, after being purchased by Lagardère) in 2005 and launched his own literary agency, LJK Literary, which currently has about 40 clients.
