There is a way in which Foreign Policy’s unprecedented endorsement of Hillary Clinton for president of the United States differs from the other unprecedented endorsements or unendorsements that have appeared in papers and magazines across the country.

The endorsement, which like those that have come before focuses on the danger of a Trump presidency, specifically homes in on “the areas in which we at FP specialize,” where Trump “has repeatedly demonstrated his ignorance of the most basic facts of international affairs, let alone the nuances so crucial to the responsibilities of diplomacy inherent in the U.S.
