Follow Today’s White House Town Hall With The Obama Dashboard From TwitSprout

In less than an hour, President Obama will be answering questions in the first ever White House Twitter Town Hall. If you’re interested in following along with the President’s answers to questions on jobs and the economy, the TwitSprout team has put together a dashboard that will keep tabs on all aspects of the event.

To gear up for the big event (which you can watch live on the special Ask Obama website that the White House and Twitter created) you can browse stats related to Obama’s Twitter account, the #AskObama hashtag, and plenty of other interesting facets of this innovative political use of social media on the Obama Dashboard from TwitSprout.

On the dashboard, you’ll see some cool stats about the #AskObama hashtag in infographic form. This is the hashtag that the White House has established for people to use to ask questions of the President about jobs and the economy, which he will answer during the Town Hall.

As of right now, there have been over 47,000 tweets containing the #AskObama hashtag. The dashboard points out, though, that only 30,000 of these were actually questions for the President – the other 17,000 were promotion.

You’ll also get to see which questions are leading the pack. The one with the most retweets, for instance, is:

“Would you consider legalizing mariguana to increase revenue and save tax dollars by freeing up crowded prisons, court rooms?”

But the tweet from the person with the most Klout takes a different approach:

“Do you think 2008 Candidate Obama would be satisfied with 2011 President Obama?”

There is also some interesting insights into where the #AskObama tweets are coming from around the country:

The dashboard also includes some historical data on the @BarackObama Twitter account, including followers and following stats. Plus, there will be data about the actual Town Hall added to the dashboard once it gets going.

So if you’re excited to hear from the President on Twitter today, this dashboard is a great place to prepare.
