FlyingWord Makes Classics Interactive

Want to see the Wicked Witch of the East fly off on her broomstick while reading The Wizard of Oz? A new company called FlyingWord may help you do just that. The digital book publisher aims to make classic literary works into interactive eBooks. They are also making original works.

The Minneapolis-based company, which is launching at Book Expo America next week, works with authors, illustrators and publishers to create these digital books from both new and existing texts. They use color, animation, motion and even 3D graphics to bring the stories to life.

So far the company has published interactive works from Louis Stevenson’s Treasure Island and Frank L. Baum’s Wizard of Oz. They have also released some interactive kids books including: ‘Twas the night before Christmas, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and the 23rd Psalm.
