Readers Mock EW Op Ed
The intention of Darren Franich’s August 9 Op Ed on EW.com was noble. Using the side-by-side summer 2011 comparison of Fast Five and Transformers: Dark Side of Moon, he wondered whether Hollywood was killing its own movies with excessive amounts of advance hype and carefully calculated Internet leaks.
The only problem is that Franich writes for a website and magazine that rely heavily on this very same hype machine for covers, what’s hot, what’s not, and more.
