Facebook and YouTube have been blocked in the Indian state of Kashmir due to the protests against an inflammatory anti-Islam video that was posted on the Google-owned video site, according to reports.
IBNLive.com reported that the state’s Home Department issued the following order:
In the interest of public safety and for maintaining public order, the government directed all licensed telecom-service providers and Internet-service providers to make arrangements to ensure that their subscribers in Jammu and Kashmir should not be able to download or upload the contents (of the video).
