Facebook VP of Product Design Julie Zhuo Leaving After 14 Years

She is starting a company with friend and former co-worker Chandra Narayanan

Facebook vice president of product design Julie Zhuo is leaving the only company she has ever worked for after nearly 14 years.

Zhuo said in a Medium post that she and her friend Chandra Narayanan are starting a company called Inspirit, which she described on her LinkedIn profile as “an advisory firm that partners with fast-scaling tech companies to build and scale products that people love.”

She joined Facebook straight out of Stanford University, joining the social network as a product designer in May 2006 and moving up the ranks to manager of product design in October 2008, director of product design in 2012 and vp of product design in February 2016.

Narayanan was her co-worker at Facebook from March 2010 through March 2017, serving as director of analytics, before joining Sequoia Capital as chief data scientist in September 2017.
