Are Facebook and Twitter cementing their frenemy status? It seems the two social networks are trying to direct traffic to each other, based on two screen grabs posted by TechCrunch.
Ingrid Lunden of TechCrunch and some of her colleagues and readers starting seeing a new box on their Twitter profiles, urging users to “Send Tweets to Facebook.” While the ability to do so is not new, the prominent location of this message — the spot normally reserved for users’ profiles and tweet windows — certainly is.
Lunden also posted the screen grab below, in which the page administrator of a Facebook page is encouraged to link their page to their Twitter account.
Users: What gives?
