According to a recent data released by ComScore, both Facebook and Twitter showed a record number of unique visitors in July. The data revealed that Facebook and Twitter grew by 11% and 32% respectively in terms of unique visitors.
For the month of July, Facebook ranked fourth among the most visited sites in the U.S., behind Google, Yahoo and Microsoft with 162 million unique visitors up from 160.8 million in June, 157.2 million in May and 145 million in July last year. Twitter, ranked at No. 34 and saw 32.8 million unique hits, compared with 30.6 million in June, 27 million in May and 24.8 million in July 2010.
Google+ also made an impressive showing with an estimated 25 million users in July. Although Google+ is still in its infancy, the fact that it is already amassing almost 80% as much traffic as that of Twitter is quiet telling about the future of Google+.
LinkedIn, the other big social media outlet, showed a downward trend with 32.5 million visitors in July, down from 33.9 million in June and 33.3 million in May. ComScore didn’t listed Google+ separately and it is most probably factored into Google Sites, accounting for the most visitors (182.2 million).
