Facebook Consolidates Status Menu On Timeline

Facebook converted the status update area of timeline for pages to a one-stop shop where brands can post milestones, events, and questions from the same menu.

Facebook converted the status update area of timeline for pages to a one-stop shop where brands can post milestones, events, and questions from the same menu.

When page managers access the “What’s on your mind?” box for status updates, several changes appear. While the word “status” remains the same, the next label says “photo/video.” Previously, a single icon bore the label “photos” without clarifying that it also led to “photos.

The link to the right of “photo/video”  has more consolidation: a calendar icon is accompanied by the label “event, milestone +” and leads to a pulldown menu with milestones, events, and questions.
