Facebook Texting Users About Friends’ Birthdays?

Reader Matteo Gamba shared this screenshot with SocialTimes, in which he received a text message from Facebook reminding him about a friend’s birthday and giving him the options to “reply to post a wish on her Timeline or reply with 1 to post, ‘Happy Birthday!’”

UPDATED: A Facebook source said in an email to SocialTimes that this feature is not new, adding that users can opt in to receive these text messages under settings, notifications, text message, with the ability to opt out at any point.
