Journalism and Facebook are becoming more and more intertwined, as the social network is reportedly working with about one-dozen news sources to create exclusive Facebook app versions of their content.

Jeff Bercovici of Forbes‘ Mixed Media blog reports that news sources including CNN, The Washington Post, and The Daily are working with Facebook to produce Facebook editions, targeting a possible September debut.

The New York Times was invited, as well, but the newspaper declined to participate due to conflicts with its recently implemented paywall, according to Bercovici.

Financial terms of the arrangements were unavailable, but Bercovici speculated that the social network would receive a percentage of subscription and ad-sales revenues from the Facebook editions, similar to its pacts with TV and movie studios and networks.
