Facebook Negotiating Acquisition of Popular Whatsapp Messaging Program

Facebook is reportedly looking to expand with an acquisition of the popular cross-platform mobile messaging program, Whastapp.

Whatsapp’s blog boasted in October of 2011 that its 1 billion messages equated to “41,666,667 messages an hour, 694,444 messages a minute, and 11,574 messages a second” – a staggering amount of words that Facebook founder Zuckerburg is looking to augment Facebook’s mobile empire.

Whatsapp, however, comes with major criticism of its security flaws.

CNET noted earlier in September of this year that various security specialists have major concerns over the application’s potential “security nightmare.”
