Facebook’s minimum age of 13 is often skirted by kids, with the help of their parents, in many cases, leading to the question: Is 13 the right age?

Opinion-based social community SodaHead asked its users to pinpoint the proper age for kids to join Facebook, and 48 percent of respondents said they felt that 13 was too young.

Here is the breakdown from SodaHead:

  • 13: 34 percent
  • 14 to 17: 29 percent
  • 18: 19 percent
  • 10 to 12: 13 percent
  • 7 to 9: five percent

When broken down by age, not surprisingly, younger respondents favored a younger Facebook age limit, with 57 percent of those at age 13 saying they were at the right age to join the social network.
