Facebook Messenger Just Reorganized Its Home Screen

VP of messaging products David Marcus also said a Discover tab is coming

The home screen for Facebook Messenger on both iOS and Android has been reorganized in an attempt to make navigation around the application easier for users.

The top of the home screen now features tabs for message threads, contacts that are currently active and groups, while the redesigned bottom bar provides access to the home screen, voice and video calling, the Camera button, people and games.

Vice president of messaging products David Marcus said in a Facebook post that Messenger will soon add a Discover tab, which will also be located on the bottom bar.

More details on the design tweaks were provided in a post by the Messenger page:

Your new home screen is organized around making Messenger your central hub for connecting with the people and businesses you want to in whatever way you prefer.
