Facebook Messenger keeps adding users along with new features as vice president of messaging products David Marcus announced that the application now has more than 1.2 billion monthly active users.
Other Messenger MAU milestones include:
- 1 billion, July 2016
- 900 million, April 2016
- 800 million, January 2016
- 700 million, June 2015
- 500 million, November 2014
Marcus wrote in a Facebook post (embedded below):
We now have over 1.2 billion people actively using Messenger every month. And I keep on hearing powerful stories about how our product is becoming a more important part of your daily lives.
