Facebook Is Bringing Some of Its Monetization Options for Video Creators to Europe

Fan subscriptions and Brand Collabs Manager are crossing the pond

Facebook is extending two monetization options for video creators to certain countries in Europe.

The social network’s test of fan subscriptions is being expanded to European countries including the U.K., Spain, Germany and Portugal.

Facebook began testing fan subscriptions in the U.S. last year as a way for people to support their favorite video creators with small recurring monthly payments in exchange for special rewards such as exclusive content and supporter badges.

The social network’s Brand Collabs Manager is also coming to Europe, starting the U.K. and Germany.

Brand Collabs Manager provides a way for brands and creators to join forces and pursue branded content opportunities on the social network’s platforms.

Facebook director of media partnerships for Europe, the Middle East and Africa Patrick Walker wrote in a blog post, “We also recognize how important it is for creators to be able to build a business and earn meaningful revenue to support their ability to make great content. When it comes to building a business, we know that there’s no ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach for the creative community—it’s a diverse industry, and each creator is different when it comes to the content they’re creating, the tools they are using and the audiences they’re engaging with. With this in mind, we’ve been working to provide creators with a portfolio of options to make money on our platform so they can choose what works best for their content and fans.”
