Facebook: How to Reduce Motion for 3D Photos

Prevent pictures from moving as you scroll

Did you know that Facebook allows you to prevent 3D photos from moving as you scroll through your News Feed? With the “Reduce Motion” setting turned on, these photos will still move as you tilt your device left and right, but movement while scrolling should be reduced. Our guide will show you how to turn this setting on from within the Facebook mobile application.

Note: These screenshots were captured in the Facebook app on iOS.

Step 1: Tap the three dots in the top-right corner of a post containing a 3D photo.

Step 2: Tap “Reduce Motion.”

Note: You can also reduce motion for 3D photos by manually navigating to the “Videos and Photos” section of Facebook’s settings menu.
