Former CNN host Campbell Brown has been tasked with the unenviable task of mending Facebook’s relationship with news outlets.
Brown will serve as Facebook’s head of news partnerships, a role that falls short of what many had hoped: An editor who would help weed out the fake news that floods the social network.
Instead, the New York Times reports that Brown will “work as a liaison with news organizations so that Facebook can better meet their journalistic and business imperatives and lessen some of their suspicion about the social media giant.”
