Facebook’s “Today In” feature allows you to browse news, events, discussions and more related to your current city. Did you know that you can change the city you see information about? For instance, if you go away to college in another city, you may wish to see news and information about your new “home away from home.” Our guide will show you how this works.

Note: These screenshots were captured in the Facebook application on iOS. Also note, the Today In feature currently only supports a limited number of cities, but our guide will also show you how to request a new city if the one you want to switch to isn’t available.

Step 1: Tap the three horizontal lines in the bottom-right corner of the screen.

Step 2: Tap “Today in [Town].”

Step 3: Tap the gear icon in the top-right corner of the screen.

Step 4: To the right of “Current City,” tap “Change.”

Step 5: Tap “OK” on the pop-up that appears.

Step 6: Tap “Type a city name…”

Step 7: Type the name of the city you wish to switch to.

Step 8: If the city is available, tap it on the search results to switch to it. If the city isn’t currently supported by the “Today In” feature, tap “Request City” to the right of the city name to let Facebook know you’d like it to be added.

Note: If you tap “Request City” in Step 8, you can tap “Get Notified” on the menu that appears to have Facebook notify you when the city is added.
