Dot Friends publicly debuts today, allowing users to create digital alter egos and interact with other users by buying them drinks, dancing along to YouTube videos, and inviting other Facebook friends.

Users receive a set amount of virtual cash every time they launch Dot Friends or invite fpeoples to join, and options to purchase additional virtual funds, likely via Facebook Credits, will be added in the future.

The virtual cash is used to purchase new clothes and accessories for users’ animated avatars, and special holiday-themed gear is available.

Locations within Dot Friends are a combination of real and virtual places, such as bars and clubs, and visitors can buy other users drinks, play songs on the jukebox, play darts, get information about the establishment by glancing at their phones, or even play YouTube videos on the wall.

Coming soon: Users will gain the ability to create, build, and design their own places, with popular locations to be ranked and highlighted, so that users can host parties and invite their friends.
