Facebook said at F8 2019 last May that desktop Messenger applications were being tested, and the Mac version is starting to pop up in the Mac App Store outside of the U.S.

A Facebook spokesperson said in an email, “We’re conducting a small test of the Messenger app for macOS in a couple of markets. We don’t have a date when it will be available, as we’re still gathering feedback from our users.”

The Messenger Mac app—which offers basically the same set of features as the flagship mobile app—was spotted in Australia, France, Mexico and Poland, Sarah Perez of TechCrunch reported.

The social network began rolling out its revamped Messenger app for iOS earlier this week. Dubbed Project LightSpeed, it was also initially discussed at last year’s F8.
