Facebook Diversity: Progress, More Work To Do

Facebook Global Head of Diversity Maxine Williams provided a detailed look at the company’s diversity figures in a Newsroom post, saying that progress has been made, but more work remains to be done.

When looking at Facebook employees as a whole, 69 percent are male, and 31 percent female. 57 percent are white and 34 percent are Asian, with just 4 percent Hispanic, 3 percent multiracial, and 2 percent black.

The gaps are even wider for the social network’s tech employees, as 85 percent are male, 53 percent white, and 41 percent Asian.
