Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook’s co-founder and CEO, told reporters and guests at the company’s headquarters in Menlo Park, Calif., Thursday that the company wanted to build a mobile experience around friends, not apps:

We want to bring this experience of having a home, of always knowing what’s going on around you, right to your phone.
