Facebook added a feature to Facebook Login aimed at providing users with more transparency when they login to third-party applications.
Software engineer Puxuan Qi said in a blog post that Login Notifications will alert users when they use Facebook Login to interact with third-party apps.
Login Notifications will also remind people that they have full control over the information they share with those apps.
They will be triggered when a user logs into a third-party app via Facebook Login and grants it access to their information, or when a user reuses Facebook Login to login to a third-party app after that app’s access to their information has expired.
Qi wrote, “We understand that there are sensitivities to people’s information privacy and related information, and we are taking active steps to honor and improve this in our products.
