Face.com Debuts Alpha of Photo Tagger for Facebook

Face.com rolled out an alpha version of Photo Tagger, an application that scans through online albums on Facebook to automate the process of tagging photos, ReadWriteWeb reported.

Face.com told ReadWriteWeb Photo Tagger and its earlier-released Photo Finder both use its facial-recognition technology to match people with their pictures via a special algorithm it calls the “hybrid description-based funneled” model.

Photo Tagger goes further than Photo Finder by allowing users to choose albums to scan on their profile or their friends’ profiles, then batching the people it finds into groups and suggesting tags for them.
