Ezra Kucharz in as President, CBS Local Digital Media

Ezra Kucharz, an executive with more than 15 years managing Internet properties, has joined CBS in the new position of president of local digital media. Beginning Feb. 16, Kucharz will be responsible for conceiving and executing the local online media strategy for CBS’ 29 TV stations and 36 radio stations.

Kucharz will report to Anton Guitano, who was recently named chief operating officer of CBS Local Media, the new local broadcast division created by CBS in November.

“CBS has a tremendous opportunity to create a next generation local marketplace,” said Guitano. “We have an unparalleled collection of major-market television and radio broadcast outlets, and a host of other resources across the Corporation, to ensure that this initiative is a success.”

For the past 14 months, Kucharz served as president and general manager of FiLife.com, the No. 4 personal finance Web site. He has also held digital management positions with Oberon Media and was one of the first digital employees hired by NBCUniversal. In 1995, he founded one of the first online digital sports media companies, Total Sports.
