'Eyewitness News' Getting a Facelift, New Set and Studio

As we reported earlier this month, WABC/Channel 7 will start their evening news at 4 p.m. when Oprah Winfrey steps away on May 26.

Now we have more details on what is planned.

Eyewitness News is making the move to new digs, a WABC spokesman has confirmed to FishbowlNY.

This will allow expansion of the station’s current studio space into a spot on the corner of Columbus Ave. and 66th St., previously home to a Disney store.

It also brings in the element of people walking on the street behind them (usually saved for the morning network news programs).
