Even Facebook Has A Beef With Pirates

Having absolutely nothing to do with the current pirate drama playing out in the Indian Ocean, Facebook today ended its relationship with the controversial search engine, The Pirate Bay, PCWorld reports.

The Pirate Bay added a “Share on Facebook” button allowing users to post links to files, called torrents, on Facebook. The torrents are used to download audio, video and other content via the BitTorrent P-to-P (peer-to-peer) file-sharing network.

The Pirate Bay has been under fire for years from content producers, including film and TV studios and record companies, which allege the site facilitates the piracy of their copyrighted content.
