European Union to Fight Apple Over Product Design

We’re certainly not experts who should be saying anything one way or the other, but at least to this writer the European Union seems to have things a little more figured out sometimes and aren’t afraid to take the fight to product designers. Such is the case as the EU’s Battery Directives initiative is set to take on Apple for the non-removable batteries in the popular iPhone, stating that they have issues with the product’s design which seems to encourage total phone replacement instead of just recycling the battery, no matter how dedicated the company says it is to earthy procedures. What might result if the EU comes down hard on Apple? Instead of just creating a new model only for that part of the world, instead it would likely result in completely retooling their operation and including the changes, which would wind up benefiting all of us. But maybe that’s just the lefty socialists in us talking.
