European Union Slashes Roaming Charges

Here’s something we could really use here in the states. According to Reuters, European Union ministers just adopted rules that will cap roaming charges when making cellphone calls abroad in the 27-member bloc.

The rules, which the European Commission said would cut so-called mobile “roaming” charges to a quarter or a fifth of what consumers now pay, are expected to come into force by the end of this month, according to the story.
