Facebook will be the presenting sponsor for the SC Top 10 segment on ESPN’s SportsCenter for the next 10 Wednesdays starting April 22.

The segment will feature user-generated highlights submitted via Facebook and Instagram, and ESPN will also share those highlights in customized segments on Facebook and Instagram, both in feed and via Stories.

Omar Raja will also host a longer show on longform video destination Facebook Watch every Wednesday to discuss that week’s top 10 highlights.

ESPN cited data from Shareablee, saying that the average engagement for SportsCenter posts is up 84% year-over-year on Instagram and 40% on Facebook, while those numbers are 17% and 7%, respectively, for ESPN posts.

The sports network added that the SportsCenter Instagram account now tallies 16.7 million followers, up by more than 1 million since February, marking the largest gain for any sports media account during that time period.

ESPN also shared recent examples of user-generated content on Facebook and Instagram with high rates of engagement: David Cohen is editor of Adweek's Social Pro Daily.
