If can make it there, it can make it anywhere: will launch April 2, becoming the latest ESPN local site and joining,,, and will be led by executive editor Leon Carter, who had been sports editor at the New York Daily News and who has more than 24 years of sports experience in the New York market. The launch advertisers for the new ESPN Local site are StubHub, Anheuser-Busch, and Audi.

The site will feature ESPNNewYork SportsCenter, three- to six-minute roundups of area sports news, teams, highlights, figures, and stories, hosted by ESPN SportsCenter anchors.

Other features will include: contributions from veteran ESPN reporters and writers; New York Yankees Greatest Team of All Time, which allows fans to pick the franchise’s best by position; The Headline Machine, which allows fans to create their own photos and headlines; a custom New York video hub offering highlights, news, analysis, and original content from ESPN programs including Baseball Tonight, NFL Live, and College Football Live; a 16×9 video player on the front page and index pages; one-click access to the ESPN Radio SuperStream audio player with live 1050 ESPN audio and access to podcasts and on-demand audio; community and social-media tools such as fan profiles, SportsNation chats and polls, ESPN Conversation pages, local Twitter feeds, fantasy and arcade games, and digital fan scrapbook ESPN Passports; clubhouse pages for all tri-state area professional and college leagues; photo galleries; and an mobile Web extension.
