Radio Host Apologizes for Calling WNBA Team the 'Los Angeles Lesbians'
Sports talk radio host Bruce Jacobs probably figured he was headed for much quieter media times when he transitioned this fall from LA’s Fox Sports Radio to ESPN Radio 104.5 FM in Albany, New York. But thanks to an ill-advised December 20 rant about the WNBA, he is making headlines.
On the Tuesday edition of his 3 p.m.-7 p.m. weekday show “Game On with Bruce Jacobs,” he dubbed LA’s WNBA Sparks team the “Los Angeles Lesbians” and referred to the Phoenix Mercury franchise as the “Phoenix Dyke-ury.”
