ESPN Passport App Available for iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad
ESPN debuted the sports-fan version of foursquare or Gowalla, announcing the availability of the ESPN Passport App via the App Store for the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad.
ESPN Passport App, which was first announced at the cable sports network’s upfront presentation in May, uses geo-location technology to determine when users are at games and enables them to check in and share that information with Facebook and Twitter.
The app also contains a Recent Events section, which lets users browse games and see how many other users checked in, along with photos and comments from those games.
ESPN Passport app keeps statistics including how many times users have seen each team, where their attendance for that team ranks among all fans, and each team’s record when users are in attendance.
